Technical support - Cable Connection Checklist

The software is configured for the correct cable type and COM port
Any foam padding/packaging has been removed
All contacts between the cable and the phone are clean and secure
The phone is powered up and connected to the PC serial port
No other devices (modem, ISDN, infrared, digital camera) are accessing the same port
No other software (FoneSync, PC Suite, PDA software) is scanning or using the port
The problem persists even after I restart Windows
The problem persists even after I reinstall the software
The problem persists even after I delete the serial ports from the drvice manager and restart
The serial port is not sharing any interrupts with other devices (especially a modem on COM3)
